Pepe about playing in the Legends Charity Game
"Representing Portugal has always meant so much to me. The passion, the pride, the responsibility—it never fades. Getting the chance to share the pitch with so many legends and wear the national colours again is something really special. I don’t take it for granted, especially when it’s for such a great cause. It’s a chance to create history and a real difference, both on and off the field."
About
One of the most dominant defenders of his generation, Képler Laveran Lima Ferreira — otherwise known as Pepe — built a career on a mix of aggression, physicality, and superb defensive instincts. Boasting a high level of aerial strength, tackling, and overall ability, he rose to the biggest occasions, becoming the backbone of both Real Madrid and Portugal’s most successful sides.
After starting in Portugal with Marítimo, Pepe earned a move to FC Porto, where his powerful displays caught the eye of Europe’s elite. In 2007, he joined Real Madrid, embarking on a decade-long career filled with domestic and European glory. Alongside Sergio Ramos, he formed one of the most formidable defensive partnerships in world football, winning multiple Champions League and La Liga titles.
Internationally, Pepe has been just as influential, playing a central role in Portugal’s greatest triumphs: their historic Euro 2016 victory and the 2019 Nations League. A warrior at heart, he is celebrated for his leadership, longevity, and relentless commitment on the pitch.
