Micheal Owen about playing in the Legends Charity Game:

"Representing England was always the pinnacle of my career, and I'm thrilled to do so again as part of the World Legends team in Lisbon. The Legends Charity Game is a perfect example of how football can bring nations together for something bigger than the sport itself. Playing against the Portuguese Legends while raising millions for families affected by war and conflict makes this match incredibly meaningful. I can’t wait to lace up my boots again for this great cause."

About

One of England’s best ever strikers, Michael Owen was a generational young star who burst onto the scene straight out of the Liverpool academy, forging a sensational career that saw him lift the Ballon d’Or in 2001.

He began his professional career at Liverpool, breaking into the team straight out of the academy. Having enjoyed eight successful years at his boyhood club, he headed for the bright lights of Bernabeu, joining Real Madrid. While his time there was short-lived, he managed other spells at Newcastle United, Manchester United and Stoke City before retiring early due to injury issues.

Across his international career, Owen was a key figure in attack featuring at multiple major competitions and he shocked the world as a youngster in the 1998 World Cup, netting an iconic solo effort against Argentina, becoming England's youngest player and youngest goalscorer at the time.
